Looking back at 2025 - and welcoming 2026

The year 2025 passed like a blink of an eye. I was welcoming the year some time ago, and suddenly it's the end of December now.  I look back, and I say, it was an amazing year. It was a smooth year in a subtle pace, unnoticed, and in the end, the year whispered goodbye to me. Most of my morning began with my routine. I was up on time, and every alternate day, I ran. It has become a habit. I can not not do it. I will make sure that this habit remains with me in the future. I am proud to say that this year, I ran about 2,100 km, which was 1,376 km last year. So this is an achievement for me. Every morning, I put on my earbuds and listen to some wise person's podcast or interviews while I run. Amazing talks. When I get tired, I switch to some music. Spotify prepared my year-wrapped for me. I spent a crazy time on music; about 21 thousand minutes.  What I liked about my morning routine is that I complete my running/stretching by 06:30 am, then I have so much time to do other thing...

Escape from Kathmandu

Happy Nepali New Year 2082! The morning of Nepali New Year 2082 started with a view of green hills and the Himalayas behind. My WhatsApp was flooded with wishes, many sent right at midnight. I read them in the morning, along with a walk in the green garden and steps at Haibung, Sindhupalchowk. We escaped Kathmandu's chaos—the dust and noise traded in for fresh mountain air and, well, the joyful chatter of my daughter and her friends. The rough road has its perks, it keeps the serenity intact. Not many Kathmandu folks are willing to scale a tough drive. The resort ...

Happy New Year 2024

I see the sea, the endless horizon, The infinity on the next end, and the exotic food on another. :) Meeting Nepalis here, in Beirut, was nice - I can speak Nepali and talk about Dal Bhat and hills and corruption in Nepal. But in the end, what matters is the celebration, good company and of course the view of sea. What a start of the year.. The variety of food - how could I resist myself? I forgot my calorie count and enjoyed it. One of the waiters, Mohammad, served us like "Royals". He became my brother, who got "lost" at a train station when we were kids. Very Bollywood. We asked for a glass of wine, and he served a bottle, I asked for his recommendation of food, and he brought a whole plate of the best Lebanese taste. Having a brother is a privilege. I have invited him to Nepal, and he will come when he finishes his graduation.  2024 here I come but wait....
