Ink On a Finger, Hope On The Nation

Today was a different morning, because I was not running but walking to vote for the House of Representatives election in Nepal. My voting station is a little further than my current home, at Sorhakhutte, where I grew up. I have not officially changed my residence yet. As no vehicle movement is allowed, I prepare myself and my wife to walk to the polling station. It was an hour walk through the core of Kathmandu. I passed several polling centres, seeing voters in full enthusiasm.  Voting is a simple act. A few minutes in a queue, a stamp on a ballot, fold the ballot paper and drop it into a box. Yet behind this simple ritual lies something profound. It holds the faith of a nation and the belief that ordinary citizens can shape the future of their country.
