To keep going

Simon Sinek and Winfrey are great to listen to. Damn! I don't have internet here. Loneliness is definitely not a motivator. It slowly drags down unnoticed. What do I do? I run in the morning.  I talk to my friend during breakfast. I eat a special 'ful' full stomach and a plate of fruit punch. Heavy lunch, a full pizza. Not to mention they taste amazing. Sorry, they are beef. I can't find buff here. Buffalos are wild species here, it's illegal to eat buffalos. It is not that difficult to keep myself happy. I am a simple man with a small dream and small necessity. Smaller achievements keep me happy. Viber chat/video with family makes my evening joyful. And, I look back on my day during my dinner. My small steps keep me energized for the big job tomorrow. While trying to change the world, my laptop crashed. But I am not worried, it's me who is more important, not the laptop. #GoodNight. #StayingMotivated

First week days after a long leave

'The first' is overhyped. The first of its kind, the first to be on ....... The first to climb to .... The first person to drive................ The first to reach.... etc etc. And here is 'the first' week after my return. I can't help myself to further hype 'the first'. I am readjusting myself to this dry air, windy evening, and cool morning. The coffee once again starts to start the daily routine. The morning is beautiful today. It is sunny for a while and gets cloudy by 2 o'clock Ethiopia time (which is 8 o'clock). Cloudy means we put on our jackets. It is seriously cold. Getting out in a street and having a bit of a walk early morning is refreshing. More greenery is around because of the rain. Being from a monsoon-hit country, I am trying to overcome my belief about rain - rain does not have to create flooding and landslides.  Local cafes began to open and an aroma of roast coffee fills the street. The cafe is decorated with local grass on the fl...

Back and busy

Many things have changed  - businesses are resuming, and new buildings are being constructed. Restaurants are crowded and more vehicles are on the street. It feels like COVID does not exist but.. it is going to hit.  I am suddenly pressed by the piles of pending work and 24 hours a day seems not enough. I wake up, take a walk, and then and in the afternoon Daily life keeps on adjusting to the changes.  The local coffee once again rejoices in my day. Injera is a daily food once again, at least for another 40 days. The Covid has made traveling difficult. And we adjust and we keep ourselves busy and keep ourselves happy.🙏

Heading back to work

Finally, I managed to buy a ticket out of Nepal. The price was nearly four times the normal price because it was a chartered flight. Wow! PCR test and other requirements, how traveling has become more and more difficult. To my surprise, I met my old colleague to travel together to Addis and later to my duty station. My second surprise was that I was upgraded to business class on the first leg of my journey. It was a "safe" feeling surprise when fake news of the Nepal variant is spreading on the global media. The transit is 19 hours. But not too difficult due to the business lounge.  I had a good sleep, good food, and a good rest, before I. Am going to have another sleepless night. Now, it's time to get my sleeves up and be in the office, then
