A Tea Break Discussion: Are We Consuming Too Much Information?

A usual tea break discussion turned into a global discussion on artificial intelligence. A usual chit-chat evolved into a discussion about AI global competition and the race between the US and China. None of us have a background in IT and yet, we found ourselves comparing ChatGPT and DeepSeek with enthusiasm. Were we truly knowledgeable, or were we just scratching the surface? And more importantly, do we even need to know so much about AI? Digital technologies have made us impatience. At the slightest hint of curiosity, we grab my phone and Google it. The cycle is predictable: question, search, read, quench curiosity, and move on. We will probably forget the answer moments later, but the impulse to know instantly is irresistible.
