Morning walk/ run continues. It feels good, so it is good morning in the real sense. It is a long weekend here. The Maskel festival is being celebrated - but noiselessly.
Rainy season is over and the days are sunny, bright, and green. As I seat in the afternoon sun, enjoying the warmth, at least 1000 thoughts have passed. I run after a few of those, caught and impressed here as a 'random hit on the keyboard'. They go as follows.
Every life has to be good. Every single life is precious. Life has to be at its best. 'A brief answer to the big questions' hangover is echoing. It took billions of years to have 'we' as the smartest species and maybe we are not the smartest. The self-proclaimed smartest species has not been not yet endorsed by anyone. So, it is not valid.
My morning walk is accompanied by podcasts and music. One of them is the minimalist podcast - Joshua Fields Millburn & Ryan Nicodemus discuss living a meaningful life with less. They argue that goodness is not in materialism, but in minimalism. And I tend to agree. How little we need. Forgot about the big talk of climate change and consumerism. Is a 24/7 internet connection required? How many pairs of shoes? And dresses? How many items? Electronic gadgets? Items? What defines us must never be the physical items we have. It should be who we are, not what we have. A large portion of greenhouse emissions will be minimized if we consume less. Being able to distinguish between want and need will surely make us a bit 'intelligent' animal.
